I have always had a fluctuating interest in diet and exercise but most of the time my motivation to actually do more than think about it has come from an event where I know I am going to be looked at e.g. wedding, special birthday.

Since having a baby (who is now 2 years old), I have used him as an excuse for not exercising, the weight that I have gained and the regular poor nutritional choices (I can’t bin his leftovers so instead I eat them myself) I realised at the start of this year, that something needs to change if I am to regain confidence in the way that I look and not feel repulsed when looking in the mirror. I knew that my lifestyle and outlook are very different nowadays, due to my family commitments, thus my usual after work spin class and swimming sessions would not be an option. I have signed up to local gyms year on year and paid the monthly fees but never visited, so it needed to be something different.

With three friends in tow for moral support, we agreed to give Train Rainhill a bash; initially considering the fabulous three day trial offer (what could I have to lose?) However, I then decided that a trial wasn’t the push I needed so went ahead and signed up for a month; with the mentality that; “ I’ve paid so I’ll have to go”. This is what I have been doing ever since and I can hand on heart say, “I have never looked back!”

My mindset is no longer focused on the numbers on the scales, but more about the way I feel about myself.

Matty has been a superstar throughout. He has not just been there to push me and ensure that I achieve my fitness goals, he has been somebody who listens to my problems, rants and excuses and offers his advice and support on all of these matters, with a genuine ear. He has pushed me when I needed pushing and has been a supportive shoulder during the lows.

I used to see exercise as a “chore” but these sessions are now a huge part of my social life and I am devastated if life gets in the way and I miss sessions. In these cases, Matty has always been extremely flexible and accommodating to my personal circumstances; offering extra sessions outside of the usual slots so that I don’t miss out.

My successes have been noted by lots of people who have commented on how my shape has changed, my clothes look too big and my weight loss in general. Matty has enabled me to change the way I think about success in relation to health and fitness. My mindset is no longer focused on the numbers on the scales, but more about the way I feel about myself. I can honestly say thatwithin the 5 months that I have been training this feeling improves day after day. I have achieved so much apart from weight loss; I am more confident, happier and healthier and this is all big thanks to Train Rainhill. The nutritional advice, health tips, recipes and group support are all additional features of this package which I feel have been a real benefit to me. I would recommend Train in a heartbeat and have never looked back since joining.
